imageWe Need Your Support
Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay provides leadership opportunities and outcome-based programming to 11,500 girls, grades K-12, throughout the Delmarva Peninsula. Your Family Partnership gift will help to benefit every Girl Scout in our council by providing needed resources, programs and support.

About the Campaign
The Family Partnership Campaign is an annual opportunity for families of adult and girl members to partner with Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay. Family Partnership funds ensure that Girl Scouting is available to all girls and keeps programs and services affordable. The tax-deductible contributions made through Family Partnership Campaign remain on the Delmarva Peninsula and helps to bridge the gap between what is made from the cookie and fall product programs and what is needed to provide programs for girls. Family involvement in Girl Scouting, both personal and financial, is essential to support troops and the council. A financial contribution to the Family Partnership Campaign will help in the continued growth and development of quality programs, provide safe facilities and provide a wide variety of opportunities for girls and adult volunteers.

Family Campaign
Every registered Girl Scout family will receive a Family Partnership solicitation letter in the mail. The letter will arrive in the households in the spring of 2014. The Girl Scout registration form includes a section for contributions. All contributions received on registration forms will be credited to Family Partnership. Incentives will be mailed directly to the family.

Family Incentive: $25 and up – Girl Scout Window Decal
In order for a family to receive the incentive for their donation the council must receive their individual contribution via a sealed envelope or online in a communication that includes the donor’s name and address.

Service Unit Campaign
The Family Partnership 2014 Service Unit incentive will be a Girl Scout banner. To receive a banner the Service Unit total donations must average $5 per girl registered in your Service Unit. Your Service Unit will receive credit for donations received from events, families, volunteers and registration form donations from individuals registered in your Service Unit.

We encourage every Service Unit to plan an event that benefits the Family Partnership Campaign. Family Partnership events may be held anytime during the 2014 membership year. If you require Family Partnership envelopes for your event please contact Denise Eberspeaker at deberspeaker@cbgsc.org or 410-742-5107 at least one month prior to the event.

If an event is advertised as benefiting the Family Partnership Campaign, 100% of the funds raised must be sent directly to the council. If envelopes containing donations are collected, please forward the sealed envelopes to the council.

Matching Gifts
Contact your employer’s personnel office to see if Girl Scouts qualifies for a company match. If it does, return your completed Matching Gifts Application form in the envelope with your contribution.

Maryland and Delaware Tax Credits
Maryland and Delaware individuals and businesses may be eligible for additional tax credits for donations made to Girl Scouts. In Maryland, the minimum donation amount is $500 for individuals and businesses. In Delaware, the minimum donation amount is $5,000 for individuals and $10,000 for businesses. Contributions must be accompanied by a completed “Certification of Contribution for Tax Credit.”

Why are Girl Scout families and volunteers asked to financially contribute?

  • One of the first things United Ways and Funds, foundations and corporations ask is whether
our council has financial support from Girl Scout families and volunteers.

  • Your Family Partnership tax-deductible contribution is an important link to additional funding sources.

  • 100% of every Family Partnership dollar will go directly to support Girl Scouting on the Delmarva Peninsula.

  • The $15 registration fee paid to join Girl Scouts goes directly to GSUSA to cover activity insurance for
all girlsand adult members, development of Girl Scout handbooks, Safety Wise, and education models.

  • Your donation will help to provide safe, educational and quality programs throughout the Delmarva Peninsula.

What your gift can do:

$15 – Can open a new door - It could provide a year membership fee to one girl on the Delmarva Peninsula.

$25 – Can educate a troop leader - It could provide troop leader basic leadership education to a volunteer.

$50 – Can instill confidence - It could provide an opportunity for two girls to participate in a Rock Climbing Adventurer.

$100 – Can inspire a future engineer - It could provide an opportunity for ten girls to participate in a STEM program.

$250 – Can create lasting memories - It could provide an opportunity for one girl to attend Grove Point summer camp for a week.

$500 – Can change a girl’s life – It could support a Girl Scout troop in a low income community.

$1,000 – Can support a young ladies dream – It could provide a Girl Scout Gold Award Recipient a scholarship for college.
