Want to be a Council Delegate?
National conventions are held every three years for the purpose of determining the general lines of policy of the Girl Scout movement and the Girl Scout program. Each council is eligible to send delegates to the convention, and the combined delegate body is referred to as the National Council. The number of delegates each council will send is based on membership as of September 30, 2013. Girl Scouts of the Chesapeake Bay will be eligible to send approximately 6 voting delegates, and 3 alternates as prescribed by the formula established by the Girl Scouts of USA.
All paperwork is due to council by November 30, 2013. The Committee will review applications and select a slate of national council delegates and alternate delegates. National Council delegates will be elected at the GSCB Annual Meeting on April 30, 2014.
Is this just for adults? No!
GSLI is where a lot of the magic of convention happens! It is a tri-ennial conference that provides girls 14 and older with three days of leadership skill-building activities tied to the Girl Scout Leadership Experience (GSLE).
We are looking for 8-10 teen Girl Scouts (age 14 -18) to attend. The cost of the trip will be approximately $2,200. A limited amount of financial assistance may be available. Monthly payment plans can be arranged with payment due in full by September 5, 2014. For more information, contact Renee Naughton, 302-456-7150 ext. 7186 or Rnaughton@cbgsc.org.
If you are interested in attending, please fill out the attached application. Applications are due to the Newark Resource Center no later than Friday, April 11, 2014. Interviews for applicants will take place the week of April 28, 2014.
You don’t need to be a delegate to attend, if you are interested in being an “Official Visitor”, please email email@example.com
with your interest and we will share costs and travel information with you.
