Butterflies

GS Daisy through Junior
Girl Scout Daisy through Junior Learn about the wonder of butterflies. Look at actual butterflies under glass to learn about its life cycle, body parts and interesting adaptations that help this defenseless creature survive.
WHEN: September 3, 2016, 1 p.m. – 4 p.m.
WHERE: Ward Museum 909 S. Schumaker Dr., Salisbury MD, 21804
COST: $14 per girl, includes the Butterflies patch.

Rosie's Story: Beach Clean-Up at the Seashore

GS Daisy
Earn your “Make the World a Better Place” petal by coming to the Delaware Seashore State Park and learning the importance of keeping our beaches clean. Girls will test out their acting skills and take part in a play of “Rosie’s Story.” The girls will participate in a beach clean-up followed by a picnic lunch in the courtyard.
WHEN: September 10, 2016, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.

              May 20, 2017, 10 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
WHERE: Indian River Life-Saving Station at Delaware Seashore State Park, 25039 Coastal Hwy., Rehoboth Beach, DE 19971
COST: $5 per person.
REGISTRATION: Please register through vendor by calling (302) 227-6991.
NOTE: One adult per child will be expected to stay for duration of program. A bag lunch needs to be packed. Min 6/Max 20.

 

Miraculous Monarchs

GS Daisy through Ambassador
Become a “Citizen Scientist” with Delaware Nature Society! Contribute to the Monarch Watch program as you capture, tag, and release Monarch butterflies in Ashland Nature Center’s meadows. Visit Ashland’s Butterfly House to witness other late-season butterflies in every life-stage and learn their diverse strategies for coping with winter.
WHEN: September 24, 2016, 1 p.m. – 3:30 p.m.
WHERE: Ashland Nature Center, 3511 Barley Mill Rd., Hockessin, DE 19707
COST: $12, includes fun patch.
REGISTRATION: Please register by submitting 215-PM Event Registration Form to program@cbgsc.org.
NOTE: Dress for the weather, wear comfortable hiking shoes. Completes some requirements for the Brownie Bugs badge and the Junior Get Moving Journey. Min 12/Max 25.

Juliette Low Tea

GS Daisy through Ambassador
Participants will learn about the founder of GSUSA, Juliette Low and the history of Girl Scouting in the USA while learning manners and enjoying Afternoon Tea!
WHEN: October 15, 2016, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.

              October 29, 2016, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
WHERE: Claymont Stone School, 3611 Philadelphia Pike, Claymont, DE 19703
COST: $15 per scout, $13 per adult, includes patch for Girl Scout.

NOTE: $15 non-refundable deposit is required. The deposit will be applied towards the balance on the program. Min 8/Max 30.
