Girl Scout Family Ski Weekend
All Girl Scout grade levels, family and friends
WHEN: December 19-21, 2014 or March 6-8, 2015
WHERE: Roundtop Mountain Resort
NOTE:Lift/Lesson/Rental options Sat/Sun for just $49/person inclusive! Register Special Hotel Lodging Friday and Saturday Night rates start at only $75/person. Discounted lunch ticket at Roundtop with 3 entrée choices, plus fries, cookie, and drink $10. Complimentary Snow Sports merit badge testing. Complimentary Winter Scout Weekend patch available for all reservations made by Nov. 31 (for Dec weekend) and by Jan. 31 (for March weekend). January

Winter Wonderland at Camp Todd
Girl Scout Daisies through Juniors
Winter Wonderland introduces the camp experience to girls who have never had the chance to stay at camp before. This weekend you will work on fun winter crafts, find ways to work together through fun winter games, zip line through the cool breeze and have cozy warm snacks with new found friends.
WHEN:
Day: January 10, 2015, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Overnight: January 9-10, 2015, 7 p.m. Friday
through 7 p.m. Saturday.
WHERE: Camp Todd
COST: Day participants: $15 includes fun patch, crafts lunch and snack.
Weekend participants: $35 includes fun patch, crafts and four meals.
NOTE: Please follow Safety Activity Checkpoints for camping and girl/adult ratio for registration.
Min 15/Max 100 for day participants, Min 15/Max 50 for overnight participants.

 

On My Honor Ceremony
Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors (Grades K-12)
To achieve the Girl Scout Gold, Silver and Bronze Award takes dedication, organization and determination. These awards are not easily achieved and the girls who earn them are to be commended. On My Honor is a special girl-led ceremony honoring the Girl Scouts who have achieved their highest grade level awards. We will also acknowledge the commitment of girls who have been a Girl Scout for 10 and 13 years and graduating seniors. Information about the Take Action projects will be on display. Attendance by honorees, families, friends and the Girl Scout community is encouraged.
WHEN: January 11, 2015
WHERE: Smyrna High School, Smyrna, DE
COST: $5 per person. (There is no cost for girls being honored.)
NOTE: Girls must complete and submit final paperwork to council by the September 30, 2014 deadline in order to be recognized for their accomplishments. Submissions of final reports after the deadline will not be eligible for recognition at this year’s ceremony. They will be honored the following year.

Animals Galore
Girl Scout Daisies
Join us to complete a variety of the requirements for 5 Flowers, 4 Stories and 3 Cheers for Animals! You will learn all about various animals’ homes, how they move and their special features. Everyone will learn ways to be safe around animals and ways to care for animals. While learning what animals eat, you will create fun animal-themed snacks.
WHEN: January 17, 2015, 9 a.m. – Noon
WHERE: Salisbury Zoo, 755 S. Park Dr., Salisbury, MD 21804
COST: $12 per girl, includes snack and fun patch.

Sisterhood Communication!
Girl Scout Daisies
Learn to “be a sister to every Girl Scout” by communicating with others and learning about foreign cultures through technology. You will learn to keep in touch by making a postcard with Publisher or by making Skype calls. You will also learn about other cultures by doing research through Bing.
WHEN: January 31, 2015, 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.
WHERE: Microsoft, 132 Christiana Mall, Newark, DE 19702
COST: $5 per girl, includes fun patch.

For the Love of Animals
Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies
Celebrate your love of animals and discover what it takes to care for animals at the zoo. We can show animals how much we care by properly caring for them. We’ll explore what both pet and wild animals need to feel truly loved! Program includes live animal encounters, zoo tour, and a take home craft.
WHEN: February 21, 2015, 9:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.
WHERE: Brandywine Zoo, 1001 N. Park Dr., Wilmington, DE 19802
COST: $12 per girl, includes Brandywine Zoo fun patch and admission for the day.
Additional parents and chaperones must pay $5 zoo admission fee.

Scout Day at the Brandywine Zoo

Girl Scout Daisies through Juniors
Enjoy a morning at the zoo during this special program just for scouts! There will be games, live animal encounters and other activities all geared toward meeting scout badge requirements. Brandywine Zoo fun patch will be available for purchase.

Wonders of the Night Sky
Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors
Use telescopes, binoculars, and the naked eye to observe a full moon rising, Orion sinking, Leo prancing, Venus low in the west, Jupiter high in the south, and other celestial sights. Join the ranks of Citizen Astronomers around the world by participating in the GLOBE at Night project to assess light pollution. If it is cloudy, we will observe the “virtual” sky in Mt. Cuba’s planetarium.
WHEN: April 4, 2015, 8 p.m. – 10 p.m.
WHERE: Mt. Cuba Astronomical Observatory, 3915 Hillside Mill Rd., Greenville, DE 19807
COST: $10 per girl, includes fun patch.

Earth Day at Camp Todd
Girl Scout Daisies through Juniors
Earth Day is about more than just appreciating our earth, it’s about learning to live in harmony with our environment! Hiking, ziplining, and the Team’s Challenge Course await us in the great outdoors. And don’t forget about cool crafts, cooking over the fire, singing songs, playing games and meeting new friends. We’ll be focused on learning about making environmentally responsible choices so our world and our bodies can work well together, and how to be leaders in educating others as well! As always, prepare to enjoy the natural environment, outdoor activities, fun and games.
WHEN:
Day: April 18, 2015, 9:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Overnight: April 17-19, 2015, 7 p.m. Friday through 11 a.m. Sunday.
WHERE: Camp Todd

Delmarva is home to wondrous plants and animals, especially in a rich habit like the Pocomoke River. Come explore with an expert naturalist, and connect with the beautiful outdoors!
WHEN: April 25, 2015, 2 p.m. - 4 p.m.
WHERE: Delmarva Discovery Center, 2 Market St., Pocomoke City, MD 21851
COST: $12 per girl, includes fun patch.

Queen of the Road
Girl Scout Daisies
Explore the Marshall Steam Museum and its collection of antique automobiles while learning about the historic journey of Alice Ramsey, the first woman to drive an automobile across the United States in 1909. Learn about her struggles and accomplishments as you work towards your Courageous and Strong petal.
WHEN: May 2, 2015, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.

COST: $12 per girl, includes fun patch.

Flower Friends
Girl Scout Daisies
Take a step on your Daisy Flower Garden Journey during this fun-filled exploration of the Winterthur Garden.
WHEN: May 2, 2015, 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Please arrive by 1:15 p.m.)
WHERE: Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library, 5105 Kennett Pike, Wilmington, DE 19807
COST: $8 per girl, includes fun patch and admission for the day. Additional parents and siblings who would like to visit the museum must pay group rate admission ($15 for adults, $10 for children).
NOTE: Please wear appropriate clothing and shoes for adventures in the garden. Park in the Visitor Lot and walk to the Visitor Center for the program. Min 10/Max 20.

 

Daisy and Brownie Discover Camp Grove Point
Girl Scout Daisies and Brownies
Learn some of the best outdoor skills including how to read a compass, start and cook on a fire and how to build a shelter in the woods. We will also review how to determine safe and unsafe plants in the woods. We will play some fun outdoor games and work on great arts and crafts projects.
WHEN: May 9, 2015, 9 a.m. Saturday through 11 a.m. Sunday.
WHERE: Camp Grove Point
COST: $35 includes program supplies, a fun patch and three meals.

Nature Power!
Girl Scout Daisies through Ambassadors
Explore the ins and outs of historic Cooch-Dayett Mills and discover how water-generated energy to run all its machines. Harness the ultimate power source – the sun! Observe this star with a specially-filtered telescope, do a solar power experiment, construct a simple sundial, make your own solar print and use a solar oven.
WHEN: June 6, 2015, 1 p.m. – 3 p.m.
